What size range cooker do I need?
For most family kitchens 90cm is the standard choice. It gives you two ovens and a five-zone hob in a gap that fits where a normal cooker sat. Go to 110cm if you cook for a crowd and want a third cavity, provided you have the width to spare.
Induction or ceramic hob?
Induction heats the pan itself, so it responds instantly and costs less to run. It needs pans a magnet sticks to. Ceramic costs less to buy and works with any flat pan, but it is slower to heat and slower to cool down.
How long does delivery usually take?
Times vary by retailer, but most range cookers arrive within 3–7 working days. Premium models built to order take longer. The retailer will normally email a delivery slot once the appliance is booked in.
Do I need a special electrical supply?
Most electric range cookers do. Anything drawing more than 3kW needs its own dedicated circuit and a 32A or 45A cooker switch rather than a 13A plug. A qualified electrician should make the connection. Check the rating plate before you order.
What is pyrolytic cleaning?
The oven locks and heats to around 500°C, which burns every trace of grease and spillage down to a fine ash. Once it cools you wipe the ash out with a damp cloth. It is the most thorough cleaning system available and saves a genuinely unpleasant job.
Do you sell range cookers directly?
No — we are a comparison and listing website. When you click through to buy, you go to the retailer's own site to complete the order. That means you keep the retailer's guarantee, returns policy and customer service.
